Kingsford Smith Drive Upgrade, Brisbane QLD

Since 2017, CMG have been working under Lendlease providing occupational diving capability on the Kingsford Smith Drive Upgrade in the Brisbane River.

This has included pile cutting, seabed surveys, scour protection and other niche subsea construction solutions to meet the unique needs of this major project.

CMG were recognised for our pro-active contributions to safety and were awarded Lendlease’s KSD Cup for subcontractor safety and were also a runner up in the Queensland Major Contractors Award for innovation on this project.

Scope of works:

• CMG were initially engaged to cut piles, but scope increased to seabed inspections, subsea welding, design, manufacture and install of scour solutions
• Provision of plant such as dive equipment, vessels, barges and pontoons
• Quick response times to assist emerging issues onsite
• Night works as required to suit Client (and traffic management) schedule
