Brisbane City Council required Commercial Marine Group (CMG) to repair the failing gabions, stabilization of the bank, stop progression of the river wall armor failure.
The scope included:
- Remove any rubbish with the footprint of the exposed bank
- Remove the failed gabion baskets and gather any rocks for reuse for repacking of mattresses.
- Cut-off the bottom four sections of the failing mattresses
- Remove the Geofabric if damaged
- Carry out compressibility test according to table 6.1 of S140 document.
- Trim, level and compact the location where the failed gabion baskets and the mattresses are removed
- Replace and Reinstall the failed four baskets
- Rewire and repack the bottom four sections of the mattresses with 4 new sections, reuse the rocks collected from the failed gabion baskets and mattresses if possible.
