1. Vessel Launch – Yamba Slipway
The vessel launch at Yamba Slipway was one of our most viewed project posts of 2025, and it highlights something many people never see.
Launching a new vessel isn’t just about the moment it floats. It’s about everything that happens beforehand: slipway condition, alignment, load control, and absolute confidence in the sequence of events.
At Harwood Marine’s Yamba facility, our team was engaged to oversee a controlled launch using a hydraulically steered SPMT. That meant diver-led inspections of the slipway, precise alignment down the ramp, and continuous checks right through to final release and post-launch inspection.
When margins are tight and the asset is new, precision isn’t optional. It makes the difference between a smooth launch and a costly setback that continues to influence how we approach vessel launches and slipway operations as we kick off 2026.
2. Lady Elliot Island Salvage
This project stopped a lot of people mid-scroll last year, and for good reason. Eighty kilometres offshore, in a sensitive section of the Great Barrier Reef, our team was engaged to recover a wreck with minimal environmental impact. Conditions were changing, timelines were tight, and decisions had to be made with both safety and the surrounding environment at the forefront.
What made this operation stand out was not just the recovery itself, but the judgment applied throughout, reading tides, adapting to conditions, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders while protecting a fragile marine ecosystem. It was a clear reminder that offshore work usually involves more than just a single task.
It relies on experience, teamwork, and making the right call when conditions are unpredictable. This project continues to inform how we plan and execute complex offshore operations today.

3. Coorooman Creek Subsea Pipelay
This was one of our strongest performing project posts of 2025, and it tells a simple story: speed only works when planning is precise.
Engaged to repair a damaged subsea pipeline at Coorooman Creek, Commercial Marine Group removed and replaced a 40-metre section of PE pipe that crossed the creek. The replacement section was fabricated onshore, welded to size, and installed using mechanical joiners before the pipeline was resecured.
The entire operation was completed in just five days, but that efficiency came from careful sequencing, clear roles, and tight coordination between diving, onshore preparation, and quality assurance.
Fast outcomes in marine environments are never accidental. They are built on preparation, experience, and execution that leaves no room for rework.
4. Bribie Island Bridge Maintenance Program
Ranking at number 4 is the Bridge Maintenance Program at Bribie Island. This project resonated strongly last year because it speaks to a challenge many asset owners face; how to extend the life of critical infrastructure without disrupting the communities that rely on it.
As part of the ongoing bridge maintenance program at the Bribie Island crossing, our teams completed 187 underwater pile inspections using a combination of diver-led and instrument-assisted methods. Targeted remediation followed, including the application of high-performance anti-corrosion systems designed for tidal and submerged zones.
The work supports safe, reliable transport while protecting the surrounding marine environment of Moreton Bay and the Pumicestone Passage.
Projects like this are about more than maintenance. They are about preserving access, managing risk, and giving asset owners confidence as infrastructure demands continue to grow.
5. Downey Park Tidal Gate
Our 5th most loved project of 2025. This project stood out because it shows what precision delivery looks like in live tidal conditions.
At Downey Park, Commercial Marine Group reinstated a critical stormwater harvesting system with a purpose-built dual tidal-gate structure, protecting irrigation supply from saline water ingress.
Fabricated in collaboration with Engineering Applications (ENAP), the aluminium and stainless-steel gates were installed by CMG’s marine construction and commercial diving teams using specialist lifting equipment. All works were carefully sequenced around tidal windows to achieve millimetre accuracy.
The result is a reliable, long-term water-control asset delivered through integrated planning, precise execution, and a single accountable delivery team.
